Anything Goes Recap
Thanks once again to everyone who came and supported our 2013 show back in November. We’ve had great responses from everyone who came to see performances and the cast and crew had a great time putting the show on; and the club would like to thank Jennifer Russell of the Helensburgh Advertiser for all our increased coverage in the run up to the show.
Some photos from the show, as well as a digital version of the programme have been posted to our facebook galleries. Below is a photo of all the cast & crew taken by Robert Bell of West highland Photography after the final dress rehearsal.
Beggsie award 2013
During show week the 2013 Beggsie Award for services to the club was presented to Euan Forrest in recognition of his hard work throughout 2013 as a committee member, Friends of Savoy Secretary, designer of all out posters, programmes and tickets, as well as being Stage Manager for Anything Goes.
Christmas Lights Switch On
For a change of pace, in 2013 Savoy decided not to sing at the URC’s Christmas Tree Festival and were instead invited to lead the crowds in carol singing prior to the turn on of the Christmas lights in Helensburgh’s Colquhoun Square.
The clubs AGM was held on 15th January. The following members were elected onto the committee for the year ahead.
Chairperson: Jane Hepworth (returning)
Secretary: Pauline Forrest (returning)
Treasurer: Paul Lyden (returning)
Friends of Savoy Secretary: Frances Rapallini (returning, new role)
Ordinary Members (min 3): Euan Forrest (returning, new role), Kelly-Marie McColl Beggs, Aimi Phillips and Graham Philips
As we head into our 30th Anniversary year the committee hope to improve the clubs finances and rejuvenate the clubs social aspect.
